Taiwanese officials and community leaders experienced Mixel Studio’s OXR mixed-reality platform and learned about the company’s entrepreneurial journey in Michigan.
ANN ARBOR, Michigan — July 31, 2026 — Mixel Studio Inc., a University of Michigan–founded mixed-reality technology company, welcomed senior officials from Taiwan’s Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC), representatives from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago, and Taiwanese American community leaders for a special visit at the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business.
The delegation included Yen Hui Lee (李姸慧), Deputy Minister of the Overseas Community Affairs Council; Ricky C. Lei (雷棋), Director of the Culture Center of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago; Deputy Director Yi-Jen Chen (陳怡珍); Dr. Andre Lee (李延志), Associate Professor at Michigan State University and OCAC Council Member; and Lin Chih-Chia, President of the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce of Detroit.
Chiao Lin (林語喬), Co-Founder and CEO of Mixel Studio hosted the delegation and introduced the company’s work in spatial computing and mixed reality.
To open the event, Lin invited Angela Kujava, Managing Director of the Desai Accelerator at the Zell Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies, to welcome the distinguished guests. Kujava shared an introduction to the Desai Accelerator, its role within the University of Michigan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, and its support for emerging technology startups such as Mixel Studio.
During his presentation, Lin reflected on his journey from studying architecture and information science to becoming an entrepreneur. He discussed how his education, research, mentorship, and participation in the University of Michigan’s entrepreneurial programs helped him transform an academic project into a venture-backed technology company.
Lin also introduced OXR, Mixel Studio’s no-code spatial presentation platform. OXR enables organizations to create immersive, interactive presentations and 3D experiences that can be delivered across mixed-reality headsets, computers, tablets, and other connected devices. The presentation also highlighted the company’s current operations, technology development, institutional partnerships, and plans for future growth.
Following the presentation, members of the delegation were invited to wear mixed-reality headsets and experience content created through the OXR platform firsthand. The demonstration allowed the guests to interact with digital 3D content at real-world scale and explore how mixed reality can be applied to education, cultural interpretation, professional communication, and interactive product demonstrations.
Deputy Minister Lee expressed strong appreciation for the technology and its potential applications. Dr. Andre Lee also recognized opportunities for future academic and institutional collaboration and expressed interest in remaining connected as Mixel Studio continues to expand its platform.

Lin added that the visit represented more than a technology demonstration. It was also an opportunity to highlight how international students and immigrant entrepreneurs can draw upon Michigan’s educational institutions, startup ecosystem, and community networks to develop globally relevant innovations.
